Popular Tour Itineraries Featuring Cavtat

We recommend spending 3 days in Cavtat, giving you enough time to enjoy this charming city and its countryside, Konavle area. Cavtat is also a great base for exploring Dubrovnik and the stunning old city with a walking tour and walk its walls.

As well as very regular local buses, approximately every half hour from early morning till late evening. You could also take a taxi or Uber (cheaper than a taxi) but at least once you'll probably want to take one of the private ferry lines that departs from Cavtat's marina straight to Dubrovnik's Old Port. A return ticket is around €20.

The easiest and the safest way to get kunas (HRK) would be withdrawing money from local ATMs. There are many ATMs in the center of Cavtat. Try to avoid blue-yellow Euronet ATMs and use only bank-related ATMs. There are also several banks, post office and exchange offices in the town center where you can exchange money. In general, banks will give you a better exchange rate than exchange offices.

Cavtat is generally a safe city, but as in many other tourist destinations, you should be aware of pickpockets. Cavtat's beaches can get pretty busy in summer, so be careful about where you leave your belongings.

Cavtat city centre is not very big, most of the walks are flat and one part is a pedestrian zone so it is easy to walk everywhere. Taxi in Cavtat is rarely needed, but in case you do need one, we can recommend reliable taxi companies. Uber and Bolt are also available. Public transport is available, but these are bus lines connecting it with Dubrovnik.

Shops, green market, souvenir stores open from the early morning until around 9pm but this can vary throughout the season. Museums and sites are generally open from 10am to at least 7pm
