But it's also worth spending more time here. The surrounding mountains reflect on the emerald lake below. A large medieval castle forms the town's backdrop. Lake Bled's highlight is Slovenia's only natural island. Set in the middle of the pristine lake, the island houses a 15th century baroque church. You could also go hiking, enjoy a round of golf, or go fishing at Lake Bled. As a glacial lake, Bled is known for its mild climate and soothing thermal waters. While visiting Lake Bled, a short trip to Bohinj and the largest natural lake in Slovenia shouldn't be missed. Bohinj is less touristy and its surroundings are pristine. If you have time, Kranjska Gora and the Julian Alps are an easy trip. For those with a sweet tooth, Bled's famous Kremsnita pastry will also be sure to satisfy.

While in Bled we encourage guests to make a trip to nearby Lake Bohinj, which is an easy 15-minute drive. Bled is also an ideal place to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and boating. The highlights of Bled not be missed include a visit to Bled castle and a pletna gondola boat ride to the island church in the middle of the lake. How can I get around Bled?

Lake Bled is easy to get around. It can be circumnavigated by foot over the course of a scenic hour, or you can easily find rental bikes in the town of Bled. There is also a tourist road train that drives around Lake Bled every day in the summer season (June-September) and on weekends in spring and fall (May and October). The train schedule is available at stops around the lake. Traditional transport to the island of Bled is via small wooden boats known as Pletnas. The Pletnas dock at the Health Park under Hotel Park, and at the Rowing Center, and cost €15 per person.
