Bled's beginnings go back more than 1,000 years. This small town rich in history has plenty to offer visitors. Just a short drive from Ljubljana, Lake Bled is an ideal day trip. But it's also worth spending more time here. The surrounding mountains reflect on the emerald lake below. A large medieval castle forms the town's backdrop. Lake Bled's highlight is Slovenia's only natural island. Set in the middle of the pristine lake, the island houses a 15th century baroque church. It's one of Slovenia's most popular tourist attractions. But the castle and island are only two reasons to visit Lake Bled.

Where to stay in Bled

What we love about Bled
Team Leader for Greece & Turkey
Talking about fairy-tale places, this is really one of those. Don't know if I like it better in spring when everything is green and blooming or in the winter when it is covered in white - it is always magical and charming to me. I love walking around the lake, taking a boat, and just enjoying the peace and tranquility Bled has to offer.

Picture-perfect Bled is all that. No trip to Slovenia should be planned without visiting this magnificent place. Serene and green, beautiful and romantic, it will reward you with the nicest memories. I dare you to come and experience it.
Team Leader for France, Benelux & Switzerland
Enchantingly beautiful, a lake Bled will leave you speechless. There is so much serenity in this place and the scenery is unreal. I visited Bled only once, but the images are engraved into my memory for a lifetime. I would like to come back again to enjoy the long walks by the lake or just read some books from the hotel terrace.
