Welcome to Bratislava, the youngest European metropolis! Rich in history ,with its medieval and Gothic Old Town, baroque palaces, and an impressive castle on one side and the stark-angled communist-era blocks and the unique "UFO bridge" on the other, the "Beauty on the Danube" is surely an intriguing place. This musical city has hosted greats like Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven. Add the numerous (eccentric) statues, boutiques, hip cafes, and lively nightlife, and influences from many different cultures, and you get a great spot for a city break.
Enjoy the "Little Big City's" beautiful baroque palaces, charming cobbled streets, and affordable dining.
Bratislava features plenty of nature. Located along the Danube, Bratislava runs from the Austrian border to the Lesser Carpathians, a hilly region with many vineyards and great vistas and hiking spots, not to mention places for wine tastings and bike rides.

Where to stay in Bratislava

What we love about Bratislava
Trip Planner
Having been born and raised here, Bratislava has got a special spot in my heart. I love how compact the city center is and the fact you are never too far away from nature when here - be it one of the many public parks and gardens, lakes, the Danube river, or the Small Carpathians - is a huge plus. Do not miss the Church of St. Elizabeth (also called the Blue Church - you will understand why immediately when seeing it) when visiting the city. Also, stroll alongside the Danube riverbank between Eurovea shopping center and the "UFO" bridge - one of my favorite spots to catch a sunset!
