The often snow-capped Etna Mountain is visible from much of the island, but if you're in Palermo in the northwest you couldn't feel further away. How many days do I need to see Sicily?

You need at least a week to see Eastern Sicily (typically landing at Catania airport), and up to two weeks if you plan on adding Agrigento and Palermo. If adding a few days in Sicily to a mainland Italy trip, we suggest keeping to one overnight destination, and day-tripping from there. Our sample itineraries focusing on Sicily are designed to give an idea of the appropriate amount of time to spend in each destination.
