Custom tour packagesLuxembourg City
It’s hard to find another European capital with the natural splendor that permeates Luxembourg City. Built at the confluence of the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers, Luxembourg is a city that sprawls on many levels. Grandiose buildings dot the stunning beyond words landscape that alternates from dramatic hills to deep gorges and smooth valleys. In the past, amidst this feast of natural beauty stood the now-demolished Fortress of Luxembourg. Renowned for its impregnability, the Fortress of Luxembourg earned the city its nickname as the Gibraltar of the North.
Explore a hidden European gem tucked away in plain sight
Strolling is the best way to explore this dream of an entirely walkable bijou city that seems to have sprung out of the pages of a fairy tale. The medieval core of the city is the Ville Haute or High City, whereas the Ville Basse or Low City is situated in the gorge and it is, without doubt, the most picturesque part of Luxembourg. Once you feel that your eyes have savored enough beauty, it’s time to treat your taste buds to an equally fascinating experience by sampling exquisite dishes at Luxembourg City’s finest Michelin-starred eateries. It may not be as popular as other European capitals, but Luxembourg City is bound to steal your heart once you start getting acquainted with its treasures.
