1. Day 1 Arrival in Rome

   The capital of Italy is a vibrant, energetic and stylish city. While thoroughly modern in sensibility, Rome is also home to some of the world’s most important works of classic art and architecture. This city has been an epicenter for culture, politics and religion for more than 2,500 years. From the Spanish Steps to the Vatican, there are more than enough sights to keep even the most active tourists busy and even somewhere as popular as Rome you can find places just off the tourist trail and bustling with locals. But it’s also nice to slow down and enjoy Rome’s famous cafes and restaurants, which can be just as beguiling as the buildings. Lounge with an espresso on the Campo de Fiori and watch the changing light on the fountains and the facades. Visit the Vatican and explore some of the world’s most beautiful churches. Rome really comes alive at night, when restaurants and wine bars bring a renewed vitality to the city. You’ll also have opportunities for day trips to local vineyards, olive groves, and other places producing regional delicacies. No matter what your interests, or what kind of holiday you’re looking for, Rome will be an enjoyable destination.

   After you land at Rome's Fiumicino airport you will be met in the arrivals hall by a driver holding a sign with your name on. The journey to your accommodation in the center of Rome should take around an hour.

   

   Go out for an "Aperitivo"!

   If you want to experience a quintessential Italian past time, well, it's time for an "aperitivo"! This is the equivalent of "happy hour", and locals commonly meet with friends and family before dinner, anywhere from 6:30 - 8 PM, to enjoy a spritz, prosecco, bear or wine, along with some munchies, before dinner (some people opt for one before lunch, though!). The food offerings vary from buffets to "à la carte" menus to the establishment bringing something scarce, such as potato chips and olives, to a complete meal of small pizzas, sandwich bites, rice and pasta salads, and more! Some great places to go for an aperitivo are: Freni e Frizioni (Trastevere), Doppiozeroo (Ostiense), and Rec23 (Testaccio - a few steps from Circo Massimo), but all bars (cafes) offer them as well. From June to September, along the Tiber River (Lungo Il Tevere), there are many stands and places where you can go right next to the water on the sidewalk.

2. Day 2 Your First Full Day in Rome

This may seem overwhelming for someone who isn't familiar with the city, which is why we offer several tours for all fitness levels that highlight these iconic locations, including walking, biking, and golf cart tours, all of which give you the possibility of seeing these historical wonders with the expert commentary of a guide. Afterward, take a stroll or enjoy an "aperitivo" (a drink and snacks) in the picturesque Trastevere, Campo de' Fiori, or Monti neighborhoods to get a taste of local life.

4. Day 4 Traveling to Costa Smeralda by Airplane / Arrival in Costa Smeralda

   Today it's time to head to Sardinia. The fastest way to get there is by taking a short direct flight from Rome to Olbia, which takes about an 1 hour. Our driver will pick you up from your accommodations in Rome and take you to the airport in plenty of time for your departing flight. We have included flight tickets in your package.

   Costa Smeralda delivers the quintessential Mediterranean feeling: a relaxed seaside vacation between jaw-dropping seaside scenery and the crystalline water. From the elegant boutiques and restaurants of Porto Cervo to the more local and vibrant atmosphere of historic Santa Teresa di Gallura on the northern coast. Although a magnet for Italian and international celebrities who want to see and be seen, as well as world-class sailing competitions, Costa Smeralda can also deliver on authentic island experiences.

   After you land at Olbia Costa Smeralda airport you will be met in the arrivals hall by a driver holding a sign with your name on. The journey to your accommodation in Porto Cervo should take around one hour.

   An Elegant Night

   With its luxury boutiques and charming lifestyle, Porto Cervo is the ideal place for an evening stroll. From Piazzetta del Principe and Promenade du Port, head to the harbor, where you can see the expensive yachts parked for the night as you sip on a fancy cocktail or savor seafood delicacies at a beachfront restaurant.

5. Day 5 Your First Full Day in Costa Smeralda

6. Day 6 Your Second Full Day in Costa Smeralda

   

   Life's a Beach

   The coast around Porto Cervo and Cannigione is home to several spectacular beaches which can easily be explored by car or boat. The expanse of soft, white sand of the Grande Pevero is lapped by the turquoise reflections of the sea, flanked by Mediterranean scrub. Separated by a promontory, Piccolo Pevero is ideal for a demanding but rewarding hike to admire the islets of Li Nibani. Further south, more wonders await, such as the Romazzino and the Principe Beach, as well as Cala di Volpe and Liscia Ruja.

   Explore San Pantaleo James Bond Style

   The village of San Pantaleo, situated about 30 minutes inland from the Costa Smeralda coastline, is a picturesque hamlet set against a dramatic mountainous backdrop. Known for its rustic charm, it gained international attention as a filming location for the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. As the sun sets, the surrounding granite peaks take on a soft pink hue, creating a captivating and serene atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy this magical moment in the lively Piazza della Chiesa, where local cafes, such as Caffè Nina, offer traditional Sardinian drinks and delicacies. Easily reachable by car, San Pantaleo can also be included in a guided excursion, providing a hassle-free way to explore this authentic mountain village.

7. Day 7 Traveling to Alghero by Private Transfer / Arrival in Alghero

   

   Today you will leave Porto Cervo towards Alghero, the gem of the north-western coast. A driver will pick you up at your accommodation based on your preferred departure time and take you to your accommodation in Alghero (or to Alghero airport, according to your flight's departure time). The journey takes around 2 and a half hours. If you'd like, we can arrange a stop on the way for an additional fee. We recommend visiting the seaside town of Castelsardo nested atop a scenic cliff or the beach area of Isola Rossa. Please note this is a non guided transfer.

   A 3000-year-long history spanning from the unique bronze-age Nuragic settlements to Renaissance and Baroque treasures, make Alghero the most interesting cultural site of north Sardinia. The mighty bastions, the labyrinth of narrow streets, and lively piazzas bustling with life echo the many languages of this Mediterranean crossroad of peoples. The colorful and diverse cuisine reflects the multiple influences, in particular the Catalan origins of the city.

   The driver will take you directly to your accommodation in Alghero.

   

   Drinks on the Beach

   As you kick off your Alghero adventure, consider making your way to Spiaggia di San Giovanni for an unforgettable evening. This beach, especially vibrant during the summer months, boasts a lively ambiance with its array of bars along the shore. Settle into your chosen spot just as the sun begins its descent, treating yourself to a delightful happy hour against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.

8. Day 8 Your First Full Day in Alghero

   

   Alghero Private Walking Tour

   Walking by its streets you will discover the History of Alghero, called “Barceloneta”, the little Barcelona: in fact Alghero is the only Italian city speaking a Catalan dialect, and where you will also eat in a Catalan way. Visit to the ramparts with the Aragonese Towers and the Gothic-Catalan Cathedral  of  Santa Maria  (XVI-XIX century). Alghero is also famous for its “Red Gold”:  the Corallium Rubrum, the most precious Coral of the Mediterranean Sea, that is caught here.

9. Day 9 Your Second Full Day in Alghero

   

   Capo Caccia Natural Skyline

   The limestone mountain of Capo Caccia is part of Alghero's skyline and is rich in natural caves, particularly the famous karstic Neptune’s Grotto. We recommend joining a half-day private tour to visit the otherworldly Neptune's Caves.

10. Day 10 Departure Day

    A driver will pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at Alghero Airport for your departing flight. The journey should take around half an hour.
