1. Day 1 Arrival in Budapest

   The Paris of Central Europe, Budapest is the Queen of the Danube, a sprawling, regal city split in two halves by the mighty river. The city’s two UNESCO-listed halves, ancient Buda and modern Pest both have their charms and are linked by numerous picturesque bridges. From the Buda Castle to the Danube Embankment and the sprawling Andrassy Avenue, with its impressive architecture, there is plenty to keep you busy here, exploring and discovering this atmospheric city. It’s a little too big to explore only on foot, but the Pest side of the city is well laid out with broad avenues of the Parisian system, so it’s hard to get lost, and the public transportation, including the world's second oldest subway system, works well. Budapest has all the charm of Western Europe at a fraction of the price. Here you can taste excellent wines produced throughout the region, and even enjoy Michelin-star dining in various locations. We can offer you more than enough exciting activities in the city, from a visit to the incredible Parliament building to a boat cruise with dinner, or an exploration of Budapest’s communist past. The city also has a rich Jewish heritage, so you’ll find the perfect balance of history and modern culture here. 2. Day 2 Your First Full Day in Budapest

   When arriving at a new capital for the first time, it's best to have a knowledgeable local show you around.    Walk on the Buda Side

   If you've seen enough of the Pest side of the city, walk across the river and explore the Buda side of Hungary's capital. In hilly Buda, you'll find several amazing baths, such as the famous Gellert Baths or the more hidden and local Kiraly Baths. Visit the Matthias Church, where Franz Joseph I and Elisabeth were coronated and stop at the Royal Palace, the home of Hungarian National Gallery. Don't forget to take a ride on the Buda Castle Funicular!

3. Day 3 Your Second Full Day in Budapest

   

   Venture Within Budapest’s Signature Sights

   Although a walking tour of the city will show you its highlights, there’s just not enough time to go inside all the buildings it covers. If you have just a few days in Budapest and you want to focus on the must-sees, we recommend exploring the Great Market Hall to try local delicacies and maybe purchase some souvenirs, the Parliament to see the most fabulous building in Budapest with breathtaking interiors, and finish your day with a trip to Budapest's grand Opera House for a performance.

   Bathe with the Locals

   Is there anything more quintessentially Budapest than a visit to one of the legendary baths? With more hot springs than any other capital, the city lets you take your pick of various styles, from the old school Turkish Rudas Baths to the Art Nouveau Gellert Baths on the Buda side of the city, or even the Neo-Baroque Szechenyi Baths with a large outdoor pool in Pest’s City Park.    A Gastronomic Heaven

   The Hungarians have always emphasized food, and their cuisine is often declared to be the best in Central Europe. During your walks in Budapest, you will see that almost every second place is either a coffee shop, restaurant, or pub. This gives you a chance to try whatever you want, and believe us when we say that it is absolutely worth your time. Suppose you don't want to explore on your own. In that case, we suggest taking one of our favorite food tours with a professional guide who will introduce you to classic local dishes, wines, and spirits while showing you some of the best places to shop, eat, and drink in the city, notably the Great Market Hall (aka the Central Market Hall).

4. Day 4 Traveling to Prague by Train / Arrival in Prague

   

   A very different city awaits you today. You'll depart Budapest by train to the Czech capital of Prague. We will arrange a driver to take you to Budapest's Keleti train station, where you will have seats reserved in second class. Notice the changing scenery as you ride through Hungary, into Slovakia and then spend the majority of the journey in the Czech Republic. The trip takes about 7 hours, and we can also arrange first class tickets for an additional fee. If you have the time and would like to do a little sightseeing along the way, why not book our private car option? For an additional fee, we will arrange for a driver to pick you up at your accommodation in Budapest and deliver you to your Prague accommodation. Along the way though, you'll stop for a bit to take in a few sights in glorious Vienna.

   Get Lost Amid Medieval Streets

   On your first night in Prague, we recommend strolling around the center's side streets. It's easy to get lost there, but the river and signage make it easy to find your way to the hotel. With so many buildings lit up, we think this romantic walk will help you fall in love with Prague right away. If you arrive before sunset, visit the House of the Black Madonna - the home of a small Cubism museum, and the only surviving Cubist café in the world – the Grand Café Orient (where even the věneček cream puffs are squares instead of donut-shaped). If you are thirsty after a long journey, grab a beer at Mlejnice, a restaurant famous for its cozy and stylish atmosphere and tasty cuisine.

5. Day 5 Your First Full Day in Prague

   

   Prague Private Walking Tour

   This three-hour walking tour of the Golden City is the ideal way to get to know the beautiful historic center of Prague. You will walk the Royal Route, originally used for the king's coronation procession. The walk takes you through the center of Old Town, where you'll see all of the most famous sights, and also learn about the fascinating history that has made Prague a unique destination throughout the ages. Crossing Charles Bridge, your guide will tell you all the stories of the past as you head up to Lesser Town, where the tour finishes.

   Taste Prague's Exciting Food Scene

   Czech gastronomic standards have skyrocketed in recent years. The best way to find out just how things have changed is to take a food tour. Your guide will lead you through your choice of either the city center or a less touristy neighborhood, helping you discover the tastiest dishes. If you're looking for luxury, try one of Prague's Michelin-starred restaurants. We can tables for you at high-end places with excellent views. Once a no-go zone for vegetarians, the veggie food situation in Prague is much improved too.

6. Day 6 Your Second Full Day in Prague

   

   Kutna Hora Private Day Trip

   Visit Kutna Hora, a medieval center of silver mining and once the second richest Czech town, after Prague. The variety of Kutna Hora's architectural monuments and its well-preserved town center reflects its ancient fame and wealth. While principally known for the Sedlac Ossuary (AKA the "Bone Church"), a chapel decorated with more than 40,000 human bones (some of which form a bone chandelier or messages and coats of arms), this town could have easily won its UNESCO World Heritage status from its other landmarks, such as the massive gothic St. Barbara's church.

   For Art and History Lovers

   Prague is so full of fascinating sights that it's easy to miss some of the best. For a little bit of peace and quiet, visit the Convent of Saint Anges of Bohemia, where you can find an exhibition on medieval art, and can find tranquility in the gardens, decorated by contemporary Czech sculptures. Our second tip is the Clementinum, a large complex of chapels and other buildings that collectively host the National Library. 7. Day 7 Traveling to Split by Airplane / Arrival in Split

   

   The most practical way to get from Prague to Split is by direct flight. Based on flight schedules, we will arrange for tickets for this flight which takes under 2 hours to transport you from magical Prague in the heart of Central Europe to historic Split on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. We will have a driver take you to Prague airport in plenty of time for your flight.

   The Roman Emperor Diocletian made Split his home in the 4th Century AD, building a vast palace complex on the waterfront that stands to this day. In fact several of the accommodation options we offer in Split are nestled inside its ancient walls. These days there is an embankment in front of Diocletian's palace but the water used to go right up to the main wall. It's on this man-made strip of land that you'll find the Riva, a pedestrian promenade bustling with life. Split's UNESCO listed Old Town is contained within these old walls and is a pedestrian-only maze that it is quite easy, but fun, to get lost in. Who know what romantic hidden cafés you might find in one of the narrow streets and alleyways? To get the best out of your time in Split, however, we recommend taking a tour with a local guide. Split is very well connected for flights, with an international airport a half hour drive away and is a popular stopping point for our guests on their way between Dubrovnik and the islands of Hvar, Vis, or Korcula, all easily reached by a ferry from Split's port. If you base yourself in Split for a few days, you will find it is also perfect located for visits to some of Croatia's most stunning national parks.

   When you arrive, we'll arrange for a driver to greet you and take you to your centrally located Split accommodation. Duration of the drive is about 30 minutes.

   

   The Right Place for Ancient Times

   The best way to get started in Split is to spend time on the former grounds of Diocletian's Palace. Visit Peristil, the palace's main square, sit on its ancient stairs, and enjoy the remarkable view. Or take a seat at a cafe on the square to order a glass of local wine and take it easy. If you need to stretch your legs, head on a pleasant walk on the West Coast and enjoy the light sea breeze and amazing view of the main Riva promenade and the Palace. On the West Coast (Zapadna Obala), you will discover an interesting fact about Split: it is considered the sportiest town in the world. Here, you will find the names of more than 80 Olympic winners from Split! Take your pick among the area's many bars for a delicious cocktail!

8. Day 8 Your First Full Day in Split

   With a professional tour guide, you will be led through the UNESCO-listed 1,700-year-old Diocletian's Palace, imagining what the life of Diocletian was like within the walls of his palace. The Archeological Museum has an incredible collection of interesting artifacts recovered during archeological digs in the region. Considering this region was settled thousands of years ago, there’s plenty here to marvel over. The Ethnographic Museum focuses on the cultural history of Split and the region, with incredible folk arts and crafts, costumes, tools, and more. It’s the best way to get a true insight into the history of the Croatian people.

9. Day 9 Traveling to Hvar by Ferry / Arrival in Hvar

   

   It's time to visit the fantastic island of Hvar! The ferry port is within easy walking distance from your accommodation and we'll provide tickets to the ferry based on your preferred departure time. We will arrange for assistance with your luggage. Duration of the ferry ride is 1 hour.

   One of the gems of the Adriatic, Hvar is more than a beautiful coastal town. It’s also an ancient epicenter of culture, boasting the oldest communal theater in Europe, and a stunning medieval fortress dating back to the 7th century. There’s a little bit of everything here, from history and architecture to modern culture, outdoor adventures and isolated beaches. Whether you want a vacation that’s action-packed or something more relaxing, Hvar will offer more than enough variety to please you. The longest of the Adriatic islands, Hvar’s fertile landscape makes it perfect for growing grapes, giving you several local vineyards to visit. Be sure to sample the local cuisine, which emphasizes freshly caught fish, warm bread, and vegetables grown on the island. We can offer a tasting tour at the finest local vineyards. Those seeking an active vacation will not be disappointed either, as there are several possibilities for sailing, swimming, exploring the sea caves along the coast. 10. Day 10 Your First Full Day in Hvar

Your tour starts from the Hvar port and from there you will first be taken to the islet of Bisevo, the location of the gorgeous Blue Cave, which is stunning. 12. Day 12 Traveling to Dubrovnik by Ferry / Arrival in Dubrovnik

    

    It is time to visit Dubrovnik, the city on the sea that you've heard so much about. Your representative will provide tickets to the morning ferry, meaning you'll arrive in Dubrovnik in time to enjoy most of the afternoon in the city. Duration of the drive is about 3,5 hours.

    This ferry service is the fastest and most convenient way to get to Dubrovnik but if you would prefer taking the opportunity to see some sights along the way, for additional fee there's an option of going first to Split by ferry and taking a private transfer from there. If you choose, you can stop along the way, perhaps to explore Ston, the oyster capital of Croatia, or the city of Mostar in Bosnia. Please note that this is a full day transfer.
    

    Dubrovnik offers an unusual blend of modern culture and ancient traditions. Marble-smooth polished limestone streets, a labyrinth of alleyways, and breathtaking architecture compose the unique atmosphere of the Old Town. You’ll experience a true variety of sightseeing, leisure, and outdoor adventures here. Dubrovnik’s most stunning feature is the 82-foot tall city wall which extends more than a mile. Game of Thrones fans will be in luck, as we offer a special tour to local set locations. King’s Landing never looked so good! There’s a rich selection of live performances for music lovers here, as concerts are performed daily, and in July and August the Dubrovnik Summer Festival of music, theatre and dance brings incredible performers from around the world. The nightlife is also exciting, with restaurants, cafes and bars that will keep you socializing until dawn. You’ll be staying in beautiful accommodation within short walking distance to all the major sites, so you’ll be able to sample a little of everything.
