Where to stay in Milos

For a low-key and authentic island like Milos, it's no surprise that most accommodation options comprise boutique hotels, elegant apartments, and beautiful suites, instead of resorts and chain hotels. Most of the properties we've handpicked for you in Milos are located in Adamas, the island's vibrant port town, where you can find several excellent restaurants, bars, and cafés. Adamas is also the starting point for many of the day tours you'll be enjoying around the island. Alternatively, you can stay in Pollonia, a seaside village in the northern part of Milos, overlooking Kimolos Island. If a more secluded location is what you had in mind, in Milos you can live the dream of sleeping by the sound of the waves and nothing but in a high-end villa or suite with unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea.

Things to do in Milos

An island of volcanic origin, Milos is particularly known for its moonlike landscapes and otherworldly rock formations. Add to those the spectacular seascapes at every turn and it's easy to understand why Milos appeals to avid nature lovers. Yet, architecture enthusiasts won't be disappointed either. A fine example of whitewashed Cycladic architecture, Milos is also known for the sirma-type buildings that adorn many of its coastal villages. In the past, a sirma was a cave-like shed to keep a boat safe during bad weather. These buildings were gradually turned into residences and, now, some of them house rental apartments. Taking a stroll around them at sunset is sure to stay in your memory for a long time. If there's one thing you shouldn't miss during your trip to Milos is a boat trip around the island. Apart from the insanely turquoise waters you will enjoy in secluded beaches of unfathomable beauty, a cruise around Milos is the best way to marvel at natural sculptures made of lava, sea caves, and secret lagoons with crystal clear waters. For the more adventurous, sea kayaking is also an option.
